Clarke 3rd at Chris Thater
8/31/2010Maxxis Cormets have delivered another UnitedHealthcare Presented by Maxxis rider to the podium. Hilton Clarke took third place at the Chris Thater Memorial race, held August 28-29 in Binghamton, New York.
Clarke earned his podium spot despite a crash with seven laps left in the race. “It was a little bit my own doing,” Clarke said. “I looked back to see where the guys were, and someone in front of me swerved a bit, and I went down. It took me a few laps to get myself squared away and mentally ready for the sprint.” After taking his free lap, he rejoined the bunch and worked with his teammates to maneuver toward the front of the group.
Now in its 27th year, the Chris Thater Memorial race honors a young man who was killed by a drunk driver. The event promotes healthy lifestyles and a STOP-DWI message.
Maxxis congratulates Hilton Clarke on his fine performance and thanks him for choosing the brand of champions.
