Matlock Takes 2nd Straight Baja 1000 ATV
11/30/2009The world’s most grueling desert race was no match for Wayne Matlock and his Razrs. Matlock’s team won Class 25 of the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, held November 20-23 on Mexico’s Baja peninsula.
Matlock and fellow drivers Harold Goodman Jr., Wes Miller and Josh Caster completed the race in 16:54:52 hours. Riding with an average speed of 39.8 miles per hour, Matlock’s crew finished nearly two hours ahead of the next team. “There was a lot of traffic at the finish, but we really didn’t have any problems,” Matlock told score-international.com. “We just put gas in it and went all day long. I enjoyed riding at night because it’s easier to see oncoming traffic.” A veteran desert racer, Matlock also took first place in the 2008 Baja 1000.
Maxxis congratulates Wayne Matlock, Harold Goodman Jr., Wes Miller and Josh Caster on their amazing achievement and thanks them for proving again that Maxxis is the brand of champions.
